Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about licensing, usage, and getting started with Chordant.
What is Chordant?
Chordant is a licensing platform for original ambient music. We create atmospheric, royalty-free tracks for creators and brands working on film, podcasts, meditation apps, installations, and other projects that need intentional sound.
What does a license cover?
Each license covers the use of a track in one project or product, in perpetuity, across the distribution channels listed in the license terms. Multi-use, sublicensing, and enterprise needs are handled through custom agreements.
Can I use Chordant music in commercial projects?
Yes. Our standard license is built for commercial use including online video, advertising, podcasts, apps, and physical products. If your usage falls outside the standard terms, contact us for a custom license.
Do you offer subscriptions?
We offer both individual track licenses and subscription plans for teams and studios that need regular access to new atmospheres. Visit the Pricing page to compare options.
Can I preview tracks before licensing?
Yes. Every track can be streamed in full quality before purchase. Free previews are watermarked; licensed downloads are delivered as clean, uncompressed files when available.
What file formats do you deliver?
Licensed tracks are delivered as high-resolution WAV files. Alternate formats and stems are available for select tracks and through enterprise arrangements.
